My Story

Hi there, I’m Scott Boeckh. For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to helping hundreds of individuals become more resilient. Whether on the training floor or in a rehabilitation setting, my mission has always been to empower people, both athletes striving for peak performance and adults seeking to live without limitations. The goal remains consistent: to give individuals control over their bodies and broaden their beliefs about what they can achieve. This became my purpose as a coach because it mirrors my own journey in training. It provided me with control over my body and opened doors to a future I hadn’t imagined. Interestingly enough, fitness wasn’t my original aspiration.

Growing up, basketball was my passion, yet I thought a career in fitness or sports was out of reach. I was pursuing culinary arts while attending community college, but after gaining significant weight, I found myself unhappy with my body and uncertain about my future. The path felt secure, yet it didn’t resonate with me. I decided to change course and prepared to transfer to Eastern Illinois University for sports management.

During this transition, I started lifting weights daily, altered my eating habits, and lost 50 pounds in six months. More importantly, I gained confidence, discipline, and the courage to tackle challenges I previously avoided. That experience transformed my life. I quickly pivoted my focus to exercise science and delved into kinesiology, the science of human movement. I immersed myself in human anatomy, biology, structural kinesiology, and exercise physiology. Most importantly, I learned to think critically about resistance training and recovery strategies.

While interning at a private training facility in Northfield, I was introduced to the methods of Charles Poliquin, which continues to influence my programming today. The most valuable lesson I learned there was straightforward: it’s all about relationships. Great coaching transcends sets and reps; it’s about understanding a person’s “why” and always keeping the “personal” in personal training.

After graduating, I relocated to Chicago, where I spent three years coaching in a private strength training gym for both private and small-group sessions. Our focus went beyond lifting weights; we aimed to build stronger bodies, enhance metabolic health, and transform lifestyles through training and nutrition. I subsequently spent four years in a chiropractic office as a rehabilitation specialist, honing in on joint-specific movement and helping those with injuries regain their capabilities. This diverse experience allowed me to work with athletes, fitness enthusiasts, parents, weekend warriors, and post-surgical clients, all united by the same goal: building bodies that are capable of more.

For the past four years in Lake Bluff, I have been coaching clients one-on-one and in small groups, emphasizing strength and mobility. Many describe my coaching style as a bridge between performance training and physical therapy. Whether the focus is on developing a squat, preparing for competition, mastering joint-specific movements, or regaining confidence in previously avoided activities, I am here to guide you through the journey.

I hold certifications as a PICP Performance Coach and FRC and FRA specialist. These systems allow me to train for both performance and durability, which I categorize as preparing for “Beast Mode” and “Least Mode.” This approach emphasizes developing strength to achieve your aspirations while fostering resilience to meet life's challenges. That embodies the spirit of The Goat.

Greatness varies for everyone, and each individual has their own “why.” My role is to show up, listen, guide, and assist you in creating a body you can trust while forging relationships that extend well beyond our training sessions.

Let’s build something great together. Greatness Overcomes All Thresholds.
